Ao Nang is popular for its unspoilt beaches and its tropical weather. August still has the same warm temperatures as the previous month with temperatures ranging from 24 to 31 degrees
Celsius. Rainfall is 270mm, a little lower than May to June. This rainy summer weather sees a decrease of visitors in Ao Nang but with an average sunshine of 5 hours per day, there are still many more things to do and enjoy.

12 August is the Birthday of Her Majesty the Queen, which is also celebrated as Mother's Day in Thailand. Towns and villages all throughout the country are decorated with lights and the Queen's portrait.

The Emerald Pool (Sra Morakot) is located in Klong Thom, an hour from Ao Nang. It is filled with clear thermal spring water coming from the forest of Khao Nor Juji, Thailand's last virgin forest. The turquoise coloured water's intensity depends on the light and time of the day. The real emerald colour is seen at dawn or early in the morning.  The Hot Springs is close by and is often visited together with the Emerald Pool. It is one whole network of streams and basins where guests can take a therapeutic bath in the 35 degree water. Krabitrek offers tours to these two attractions.

For guests who are looking for a place that won't break the budget, Chandee Guesthouse offers modern air-conditioned rooms with simple decor, cable TV, mini bar, private bathroom with a hot shower and safety deposit box. It is just a five-minute walk from Aonang Beach. There is free Wi-fi and a restaurant that serves Thai, European and seafood dishes.
