What's the weather like in Antigua in November
Temperature
The weather gets cooler and drier in Antigua in November, compared to October. During this month, the average temperature for the island begins at 27.5°C (created by highs of 30°C and lows of 25°C) at the beginning of the month and falls down to 26.5°C by (highs of 29°C and lows of 24°C) by the end of the month. Also located in St Johns, this resort is found on the outskirts of the resort, within easy walking distance of King's Casino, Adventure Antigua and other bars, restaurants and attractions. Accommodation is provided in the form of self-contained one-, two- and three-bedroom apartments, each of which features a full kitchen, TV, air conditioning and bathroom. Due to the cheap room rates there are no services or facilities available onsite, but there are plenty of eateries, nightlife options and entertainment venues just a short drive away in the capital.
Antigua Beach for November
If you need somewhere to relax in peace and quiet, spend the day at Green Island. Located off the eastern coast of Antigua, this uninhabited island is home to several pristine white sandy beaches which are often totally deserted. You won't find any services or facilities on the island at all, so make sure you take everything you'll need for the day with you. Many of the beaches on the island are lined by coral reefs, so if you bring your snorkelling or scuba diving equipment with you, you'll have hours of fun.
Found on the eastern side of Antigua, Long Bay Beach is ideal for people staying at Willikies. Located just five minutes away from the bustling resort, this beach is made up of fine white sand and crystal blue waters which are always calm enough for swimming. There are sun loungers and parasols available to rent on the beach, plus the Beach House bar/restaurant which is part of the Long Bay Beach Hotel. You can hire equipment for snorkelling, sailing, scuba diving and kayaking here, too.
Bars and Restaurants
For some sophisticated French cuisine, try Le Bistro. Located in St Johns and Open Tuesday-Sunday from 6.30pm until 10.30pm, this restaurant offers a menu full of typical French dishes, including seafood bisque, foie gras and scallops, snails in garlic butter and salmon tartare. For dessert you can try the crepe suzette for two, which is always available, or browse the selection of freshly prepared homemade desserts available that day. There is an impressive wine list available, too, with a huge selection of French and European wines.
If you'd rather something more northern European, make a reservation at Mayday in Jolly Harbour. Open on Monday from 5pm until 10pm and Tuesday-Saturday from 11am until 10pm, this restaurant specialises in traditional Austrian and Hungarian dishes, with items such as chicken paprikash, flat iron steak, lamb rack and Kaiserchmarrn all appearing on the menu. Make sure you leave room for dessert because there is also a great choice of cold sweet pies, including key lime, coconut lime, Oreo and chocolate.
Whatever sort of food you're in the mood for, they're bound to have it at Jackees Kwik Stop. Located in English Harbour, this eatery is well known for its eclectic range of dishes, with vegetarian, vegan, Mexican, English breakfast and American brunch items all available. There are also some Caribbean specialities, including pan-fried whole snapper, stewed beef, curried chicken and Creole conch. The surroundings might be a bit on the cheap-and-cheerful side, but the quality of the food is second-to-none for the price.
Things to do in Antigua in November
If you're looking to pick up a unique handmade souvenir, stop by the Zemi Art Gallery. Enthusiastic photographers won't want to pass up the chance to climb to the top of Mount Obama. Previously known as Boggy Peak, the top of this mountain is the highest point in the whole of Antigua and can either be reached by an hour-long very steep climb or a much shorter drive be aware that the final part of the trip can only be completed on foot or in a 4-wheel drive. When you reach the summit, you'll be rewarded with views which span across the Caribbean Sea over to Montserrat and St Kitts, so make sure you take your camera with you.
Another natural attraction worth visiting during your holiday in Antigua are the Megaliths on Greencastle Hill which are similar to the UK's Stonehenge in appearance and by the way of their unknown origin and use. Located three miles south of St Johns, this site is located on top of the remains of a volcano which stands at only 172m high, making it much easier to get to than Mount Obama. From the top of the volcano you can admire a huge number of unusual geological formations and megaliths, as well as panoramic views over the Jennings and Emmanuel villages below.
