Antalya Hotels in October
The Caesar Temple Hotel, located near Belek, is one of the few themed resorts in the region. The hotel is themed in the ancient Roman motif and popular with travellers from many countries. In accordance with Roman decorations, the hotel boasts fine Italian cuisine in its several restaurants. In addition to having a theme, the hotel is also quite large and feels very corporate. But because it is located outside of the city of Antalya, you'll save some money.
On the other side, the Arabella Hotel in Incekum is a popular budget choice. The hotel is within a convenient walk of the beach without having to pay the premium that you find at other resorts. This hotel is relatively off of the beaten path so it has fewer British and Northern European tourists than others. There may be a language barrier as many of the tourists in this part of Turkey are from Eastern Europe and Russia.
If you would rather avoid a large hotel, the Puding Marina Residence may be perfect. This boutique hotel is located near the Harbour District in Antalya. This means that the hotel and surrounding area is lovely and perfect for exploring but it could be difficult getting to with luggage.
For a tried and true hotel, along with an affordable one, the Best Western Plus Khan Hotel is an option. This hotel is conveniently located near downtown Antalya so you'll save money on transportation here. There is a breakfast buffet available to guests so you'll also be able to cut down on potential costs.
Elegant and sophisticated, the Tutav Adalya Hotel is a great choice for the mature or sophisticated travellers. This hotel is away from the hustle and bustle of the busy beaches and features very richly decorated rooms. These rooms will make you feel like royalty with their rich colours and sumptuous décor.
Antalya Beach for October
Another popular beach option near Antalya is the Kemer Beach. Located in a beach resort town, the beaches here have large pebbles rather than sand. This beach is rather isolated so making a trip to it should be planned with a large block of time. It is not as conveniently located near other attractions as others.
Bars and Restaurants
A fine example of Turkish cuisine can be found in Kazan in Antalya. This restaurant has a menu of classic Turkish dishes including kebabs, lamb offal and koftes. The staff here does speak English which can give it an advantage over others in the area. Kazan is extremely relaxed; there is no pressure to buy drinks or dessert here. And while there is a bar in the restaurant, it is a mature, laid-back environment.
If you are traveling with a significant other, the Ship Inn Restaurant would be a lovely choice for a romantic evening. This restaurant has a feeling of a peaceful oasis; you can even sit by a pond in its courtyard. The menu is full of Turkish favourites but what makes this place truly special is the ambiance. If nothing else, making a stop into the Ship Inn for drinks and a dessert is worth the trip.
Part bar and part restaurant, the Kale Bar is popular with tourists for its food and prices. This restaurant is located in the Old Town area of Antalya and overlooks the Harbour District. The beautiful view from this restaurant may be worth the trip alone but the food is also exquisite.
Things to do in Antalya in October
The largest and easily most elite golf club in Turkey is the Gloria Golf Club. This golf club is a part of a larger resort but you don't have to stay at the resort in order to use the club. Because the golf club prides itself on its exclusivity, calling ahead to make sure you'll be able to make a reservation and meet the dress code is advised. The golf club and grounds were designed by some of the best golf authorities in the industry.
On the other end of the spectrum, you can consult with your hotel staff to see what performances will be put on at the Turkish State Opera and Ballet. This lovely theatre is one of the foremost in Turkey and is found in Antalya. Because the national Turkish opera and ballet festival is held in Antalya in August and September, the area adores these arts and you'll find some of the most enthusiastic aficionados in the country here.
If you'd rather, you can soar above the busy streets and countryside of Antalya with the Anatolian Balloons company. This well-regarded tour company picks up tourists at their hotels and whisks them off to ride in hot air balloons over the picturesque countryside. Guests will get to see the balloons get inflated while enjoying breakfast before taking off over the Taurus Mountains. You will also get to soar over orchards and rivers for over an hour. It'll be a one of a kind experience!
Dates for the diary
One of the biggest religious festivals of the year occurs in October Ramadan. Beginning in either September or October, but certainly extending into October, the Muslim majority of Turkey observe this holiday. Locals will observe by fasting during sunlit hours. They will not drink or eat anything from sunrise to sunset but after sunset, they will partake in a large meal with family. This is an incredibly important time so being mindful and respectful of other's traditions is critical. Many shops and stores may have impacted hours because of the owner's Ramadan observances.
