Beach in Amadores for September

Playas Meloneras

Just outside of nearby Maspalomas you will find the inviting waters of Playa Meloneras. This is a quiet beach, and a great alternative to the central beach in Amadores. Playa Meloneras offers 500m of soft sand, with plentiful restaurants, bars, and cafes for a break from the sand. There are also lots of shops here if you fancy a break, with a slightly more upmarket feel to the resort.

The slightly increased rain level in September should not stop you getting out into the open air, as even when it does rain, it is over rather fast. If you're travelling with children, as a family, then Timanfaya Pirate Boat is a great fun day out for the family. The staff all dress up as pirates and your children will be occupied from the get-go, leaving you time to kick back and relax, knowing your littles ones are safe and looked after.

Bike Ride

A family bike ride could be just the activity to tire out little ones, and you will easily find bike hire offices around the resort. The coastline between Amadores and Maspalomas, as well as in the other direction to Puerto Rico, are great for heading off on two wheels, however wherever you go in general on the island you will find countryside which is perfect for a bike ride.

Maspalomas Dune Reserve

If you've never had a camel ride before, this is your chance! The Maspalomas Dune Reserve is quite the wonder for the eyes to take in when you're simply standing and looking at it, however a camel ride adds a totally new dimension. Kids will love interacting with these gentle creatures, and the experience itself is laugh a minute from the start, in amazing surroundings. Don't forget to actually take in what you're seeing however.
