No ball games or loud music are allowed, so rest and relaxation is the name of the game. It's easy to get here too, either by foot if you're staying very central, or by bus, which is very regular and reliable.

Things to do in Amadores in January
Amadores Beach
The first month of the year begins with New Year celebrations, and whilst New Year's Day might be a quiet affair, with everyone recovering from the night before, a refreshing swim on the first day of the year is a great thing to do. Head to Amadores Beach for a chilled-out start to your month, and enjoy the peace and quiet.
Golfing in Anfi Tauro
Alternatively, you might enjoy a spot of golf, and in that case you're spoilt for choice. Amadores is home to many golf courses, indeed the whole south coast of Gran Canaria has choices for a few hours on the green. Head to Anfi Tauro as a choice in the resort itself.
Maspalomas Golf Club
As an alternative, you can travel just a few minutes out of town to Maspalomas to enjoy Maspalomas Golf Club for a change of pace. The temperate weather in January is perfect for enjoying a few hours outside, with a breath of fresh air to blow away the cobwebs.

Before the more extreme heat hits the island, head out on a boat trip and attempt to spot dolphins and even whales in the wild. You'll find a few choices if you head to nearby Puerto Rico, which is easily accessible via a pleasant clifftop walk, or the local bus service. Most dolphin and whale spotting trips last for around three house, so if you can get on an early cruise you could take advantage of the New Year sales in Puerto Rico and head off shopping. You'll find Duty Free offers on certain items, such as electricals, and there are also three large shopping centres to explore here, including Europa, with restaurants to enjoy as a pit-stop, before heading the short distance back to Amadores.
Dia de los Reyes Magos
If you are visiting Amadores on 6 January then you will privy to the Dia de los Reyes Magos, or Day of the Three Wise Men. This is a huge celebration across the whole of Gran Canaria and you will see street parades and celebrations in most resorts certainly one for the camera.
