Temperature

Summer comes to Alvor with excellent starting temperatures, plenty of comfortable heat and sunshine, and a much more welcoming Atlantic Ocean. The average temperature is a lovely 20°C (68°F), while the nights are cool at 16°C, which is still a great improvement from the previous month of April. The hotter days are expected to reach a high average of 24°C, which is nothing but good news for those looking to sunbathe and swim during their holiday in the Algarve. Humidity is also lower, at 68% on average, making the nights dry and offering non-oppressive dew points for the entire month.

The days grow even longer, with up to 13 hours of glorious sunshine, and a wonderful 55% chance of full-on sunny days to work with in June. Chances of clouds are down at a mere 7%, while chances of rain are even lower, close to non-existent at just 3% on average. This easily translates into an entire month filled with sunshine and warmth, and barely a drop of rain on a late afternoon somewhere. Rainfall is not expected to exceed the 5mm average, spread over the course of 2 days.

Wind

The predominantly southern and south-eastern winds now slowly begin to die down, with slightly lower average speeds of 4m/s, most of them dry, North African currents from the neighbouring continent.
