Playa de Muro Beach
October is really the final month of the year where you can expect to be able to sunbathe on the beach. Despite the fact that the weather in Alcudia is temperate for most of the year, the months of November, December, January, and indeed February may be a little too chilly for sitting on the sands. If you are looking for a little beach time during your October break, head to the beautiful Playa de Muro beach. This is situated at the end of the main beach in Alcudia, ending at Ca'n Picafort.

Things to do in Alcudia in October
Alcudia Fire
The fact it is more likely to rain in October doesn't mean you shouldn't get out and explore! There are several interesting festivals throughout the month and whilst visiting Alcudia you should definitely get involved, to experience authentic Spanish culture and life. During the first week of October the Alcudia Fira takes place, which is an important agricultural fair, with parades, music, dancing, and general merriment throughout the weekend.
Fiesta of Black Pudding
If you're in Sant Joan during the first Sunday of the month, you will be privy to the Fiesta of Black Pudding! Alternatively, the first weekend is also the Fira Dolca in the mountain town of Esporles, which is a celebration of all things requiring a sweet tooth!
Pollentia
Exploring Pollentia should be done regardless of the time of year. This old Roman city is a window to the past, with very well-preserved ruins, including the old theatre you can walk around and pretend you were there back in the day. There are plentiful cafes, restaurants, and shops too, as well as a pretty marina. Bus links from Alcudia are very frequent, running every 15 minutes.
Xara Gate
Whilst visiting Alcudia's Old Town, be sure to head to Xara Gate. This is like experiencing old Spain, and the drawbridge is particularly like heading back in time. Get your photo taken walking across it to complete your holiday snaps! Whilst in the Old Town, head to the market on Sunday and Tuesday, which does get particularly busy on Sunday in particular. You can easily spend a few hours wandering around the Old Town and not realise where your day went.
Ranxo Ses Roques
If you're visiting Alcudia during October, perhaps taking advantage of cheap deals during the quieter part of the season, then be sure to head to Ranxo Ses Roques for a family day out. The kids will love the mini farm, with colourful birds and horses, and the pony trek around the mountain is a fantastic and very scenic experience.
