Playa de Muro Beach
Whilst the sea might not be quite warm enough for a swim in February, it is certainly warming up a little. The beach is a great day out during a particularly warm spell, and you can easily take a picnic down to a sheltered spot and watch the beauty of the area for a few hours. Playa de Muro beach is a great spot to do just that, as it is slightly quieter than the main beach in Alcudia, yet still very close by, with soft sand and clear, calm waters.

Travelling with kids means you need to put some effort into finding a place to go of an evening which satisfies your needs and theirs. Luckily, in Alcudia there are plenty of choices for family-friendly restaurants, such as Smith's Café Bar/Restaurant. The food here is fantastic, but the deserts are certainly what it is famous for! Kids are entertained with colouring books and activities whilst they wait for their food. - Good food but amazing cakes. Good for kids, entertainment like colouring etc.

Alternatively, Mama's Gourmet is another great choice for families, serving American bistro food and huge portions.

Things to do in Alcudia in February
Darrers Dies Festival
February marks the start of the Darrers Dies festival in Majorca, which is celebrated 40 days before Easter. You will find most of the celebrations taking place in Palma, however there will be festivities across the island, with floats, processions, games, and general merriment.
Beer Lovers Cerveceria
If you prefer merriment of the alcoholic kind, then head to Beer Lovers Cerveceria on one of their open days, where you can learn about how beer is made, sample it, and then wobble back to hotel to continue your alcoholic fun! Check online to see when their open days are, as these do vary depending on the time of year and generally the day of the week.
Jakober Art Foundation and Gardens
Art and culture lovers should certainly book a private tour and head to the Jakober Art Foundation and Gardens. The tour takes around two and a half hours and throughout that time you will tour the house, see the beautifully intricate ceiling art, as well as the tour the modern art gallery, with the help of a knowledgeable guide in understanding the story behind it all. This is a must visit for anyone who is in any way artistic.
Traditional Market
Of course, there comes a time in everyone's holiday where a little shopping is called for, and in Alcudia you are very much spoilt for choice in that regard. The best place to head is without a doubt the traditional market, which is held every Tuesday and Sunday, from 8.40am to 1.30pm. This is the best place to pick up authentic souvenirs to take home, with everything from fruit, shoes, clothes, leather, snacks, and jewellery, plus much, much more. The market is held in the beautiful Old Town of Alcudia, so you can tie in a little sightseeing as you shop too. Public transport links to the market are also very plentiful and frequent.

After all that shopping and sightseeing, head to Via Tropic & Spa. This top-class hotel boasts plenty of amenities in general, but the spa itself is certainly a place to head for rest and relaxation. Treat yourself and your loved one to a massage or a treatment for Valentine's Day!
