Alcudia is a well-known tourist destination found in the north of Majorca, which is also part of the Spanish Balearic Islands. The resort is popular with families and couples due to the fine sand beaches of Alcudia, as well as the charming Old Town.
There's plenty going on all over Alcudia, whether you're into water sports, sightseeing or shopping. Cycling and mountain biking are both great ways to get around the Island and discover the ancient Roman ruins. Whilst if you prefer to keep active, head to the beach and have a go at kite surfing, or why not spend the day at Majorca's HidroPark.
The Old Town in Alcudia is a must visit if you are staying in the area as there are many restaurants, tapas bars and shops to explore. But if learning about the history of the town is more to your taste visit the amphitheatre or head to the Church of St Jaume.

Cycling and mountain biking
Alcudia has an ideal setting for mountain biking and cycling, whether you just want to pedal around the Old Town or explore the more mountainous terrain.

Golf Pollensa is another exclusive golf course found in Palma-Pollensa. This is a 9-hole course, which boasts panoramic views over the Tramuntana Mountains and the bays of Pollensa and Alcudia.
Boat Excursions
There's a mixture of boat tour operators around Alcudia but one of the most highly recommended is Click Mallorca.
Click Mallorca offers a number of boat and catamaran excursions from Alcudia Bay. During the summer months from May to October a glass-bottom catamaran will leave from the bay of Alcudia for two hours and will take visitors along the coastline of Majorca. Theme Parks
There are a number of theme parks to be found in Majorca, but one of the best and nearest to Alcudia is HidroPark Puerto Alcudia.
If you fancy a day of fun with the kids head over to HidroPark Puerto Alcudia, the biggest water park in the north of Majorca. This wet and wild theme park is open every day from May until October and is the perfect way to cool down on a hot summers day. Race down the water slides with friends, take a dip in the large outdoor pool or just simply top up your tan in the sunbathing area.
Water Sports
If you are searching for adrenaline-packed water sports, Alcudia has it all. From scuba diving to kite surfing the town of Alcudia is well equipped for a whole range of different water based activities.
Scuba Mallorca is a British owned five star PADI scuba diving centre found in the Port of Alcudia, as well as Pollensa. They offer a full range of diving adventures from beginners and children to qualified divers. There are also a number of packages available if you want to make the most of your stay in Majorca, spanning from just two days to five days.
Alcudia and Pollensa are some of the best spots in Europe for sailing due to the ideal wind conditions and spectacular views over the backdrop of the mountains and the Mediterranean Sea. Sail & Surf Pollensa offers windsurfing and sailing lessons for kids and adults and it doesn't matter whether you're a beginner or professional.
If you're a keen fisher why not try Totymar Fishing and Boating, located in the port of Alcudia. They sell a range of high quality fishing equipment including fishing rods, lures and GPS Plotters and if you have not hired out a boat for the duration of your stay they also offer a fishing charter service.
Whilst if you want to take to the skies Kite Mallorca, located in Sa Marina offers kite surfing lessons for all levels! If you are a beginner you will learn the basics of kite control and the art of body dragging, so you become comfortable in the water whilst being dragged by a kite. On the other hand if you consider yourself a proficient kite surfer you will be able to rent out a board and kite to show off your skills!
Historical Sites
There are many places of historical interest found in Alcudia from ancient churches to the charming Old Town.
The Church of St Jaume is a Roman Catholic Church built in the 17th century that can be found in the Old Town part of Alcudia. The chapel is notable for the stunning central dome and baroque inspired artwork inside the church. Today it is a popular attraction for tourists who want to learn more about Majorca's history.
The Roman remains of Pollentia were discovered in the 17th century but excavations did not actually start until quite recently in 1923. Today there are three areas open to the public including the theatre, the forum and the residential area of La Portella. This site is of great interest as it was founded in 123 BC and was viewed as a strategic location between the bays of Alcudia and Pollentia.
La Victoria Chapel or otherwise known as Chapel of La Victoria is a place of worship dating back to 1679. This small Baroque style chapel is a popular tourist attraction due to its beauty and religious significance. There are numerous day trips that will take you up the mountain of Alcudia to visit this small chapel.
Old Town
The Old town is a well preserved walled city found on the grounds of an ancient Roman settlement, which still holds the remains of an amphitheatre, some Roman houses, a bull ring and even medieval buildings dating back to the 13th century!
If you fancy a bit of shopping this will be the perfect place for you as there are many souvenir shops and traditional shops selling porcelain works and stunning jewellery. Every Tuesday there's also a large market, so if you're good at haggling you may be able to find some great bargains here!
Museums
Since 1993 Alcudia harbours one of the most significant national foundations in Majorca.
Fundación Yannick Y Ben Jakober otherwise known as 'Museo Sa Bassa Blanca' is a foundation set up to conserve and restore the Spanish Heritage of Majorca through fine art. There are a number of interesting exhibits on display here including a fascinating sculpture park; a rose garden and a range of contemporary pieces are also on display. Some of the artists include Rebecca Horn, Yannick Vu and Domenico Gnoli.
