The Saadiyat Public Beach is a sprawling white-sand beach on Saadiyat Island. Mosaic
Mosaic is a wonderful authentic Lebanese restaurant in central Abu Dhabi. This family-style restaurant, great for kids, serves homemade Lebanese meals all day long. Some of the fantastic fresh meals you'll find on the menu are tabbouleh salad, various hummus platters, and great grilled meats like lamb ribs, chicken kafta, and shish tawouk. A variety of fresh juices are available to go with your meal. Mosaic was named Zomato's Number One Middle Eastern casual dining restaurant in 2018. The atmosphere is very inviting and the service is spectacular. Mosaic is open every day from 9AM to 11PM.
BU!
If you want a break from Middle Eastern food, check out the pan-Latin cuisine at BU!, located in the World Trade Center Mall. This hip restaurant has rave reviews, excellent live music, and offers outdoor terrace seating with stellar views of the Gulf. BU!'s Latin concept menu features soft shell tacos of sea bass and grilled beef, skewers with salmon, chicken, and tenderloin, a number of ceviches, and even Latin-inspired sushi rolls. BU!'s bartenders serve outstanding exotic cocktails with flamboyant artistic flair. BU! is open Sunday through Friday from noon until 3AM and on Saturday from 10AM to 3AM.
Angar
Angar is a critically acclaimed contemporary Indian restaurant housed in the Viceroy hotel on Yas Island. The authentic Indian menu features a number of flavorful chutneys and curries, authentic tandoor dishes of chicken tikka and paneer tikka, spicy lamb vindaloo, and a large dessert menu. The seafood dishes are equally impressive, including coconut scallops, lemon chili lobster curry, and spicy prawn chili milli. Angar also has a vegan and vegetarian menu available. Angar is open Tuesday through Sunday from 7PM to 11PM and on Friday from 2PM to 11PM. Reservations are accepted.
Shawarma Time
Shawarma Time is a modest, affordable eatery in Abu Dhabi's business district. This franchise restaurant serves the popular flavorful shawarmas, a staple of Middle Eastern street food. Only fresh, local meats are used, and always chilled instead of frozen. Healthy options of chicken shawarmas and grain salads are available, as well as more guilty pleasures of jacket potatoes, Brazilian cheese buns, and fried kibe. A kid's menu is also available. Shawarma Time is open Saturday through Wednesday from noon until midnight, Thursday from noon until 1AM, and Friday from 1PM to 1AM. Online ordering is available.
Things to do in Abu Dhabi in March
Yas Drag Racing Festival
Yas Island is full of fast-paced activities, from Ferrari World to the Formula 1 Marina Circuit. The Yas Drag Racing Festival takes place in March at the infamous Yas Marina Circuit, a multi-day event featuring fast cars, great food, and outstanding entertainment. The Yas Marina Circuit has its own drag racing centre where the festival takes place. Tickets can grant you general admission or admission to the air-conditioned lounges and pavilions. Abu Dhabi Desert Safaris
There are a number of tour operators in Abu Dhabi who offer thrilling desert safaris. The itineraries are often similar and consist of hotel pickup and then transport to the desert in an air-conditioned 4x4. You'll soar over the dunes in these vehicles before arriving at a corral with camels. Hop on a camel and enjoy a short ride through the desert before ending the day with refreshments and tea. Some tours include extra cultural experiences like belly dancing and falconers. Some operators also provide these tours at sunset.
Sadiyaat Beach Golf Club
The United Arab Emirates has some outstanding golf courses, one of which is the Sadiyaat Beach Golf Club on Sadiyaat Island. A round of golf and rental clubs aren't exactly cheap, but the experience is worth it. This golf course provides excellent views of the ocean, especially at sunset. The course can be a challenge with its numerous bunkers and fast greens. There's also a lot of interesting wildlife at the golf course, such as flamingos and the Arabian oryx. Take some practice swings at their driving range and putting green before your round. After golf enjoy dinner at the Hawksbill Restaurant.
Etihad Towers
The Etihad Towers are one of Abu Dhabi's newest skyline additions and one that you'll undoubtedly recognize in photos. The towers are comprised of five unique glass-faced buildings, each of which provides something different to both visitors and long-term residents of the Towers. There are 11 bars and restaurants at Etihad Towers, all with different cuisines and price ranges. These restaurants are operated by the Jumeirah Hotel but are open to the general public. Etihad Towers also offers a large shopping area consisting of everything from groceries to sophisticated jewelry and clothing shops.
