The city of Bourgas experiences a temperately continental climate that is impacted distinctly from the effects of the black sea. Bourgas enjoys summers with plenty of sun and minimal rainfall. Bourgas summers are also enjoyably long-lived with temperatures staying as high as 22°C in May right through until October when they still reach 21°C. This is also quite a lot higher than the many northern Black Sea resorts. In the height of summer the north-easterly winds help keep the temperature at a more bearable climate as the temperature commonly stays around 30°C in July and once August arrives the relative humidity will be at its highest. Indeed, summer in Bourgas can be heavenly. Near the end of May the sea temperature reaches 20°C. The average air temperature is still a warm 21°C in October and it can be a very agreeable time to visit the city but some of the museums and attractions do close in September. The tourism industry reaches its peak throughout summer with between eight and eleven hours of sunshine each day from the beginning of May until the end of September. Although Bourgas boats an extremely extensive and pleasurable summer season, June is just regarded as the wettest month in Bourgas with average rainfall reaching around 54mm, while December is just under with 53mm, but the rain will commonly only be short brief showers that bypass quickly.
