What's the weather like in Berlin in June

In the capital city of Germany, summer hits in full force come June with increasing warming temperatures and rainfall amounts. Berlin has lots to offer visitors of all ages, with numerous theaters, museums, and indoor and outdoor attractions to suit every taste. The city is also known for amazing food and its incredible nightlife scene.

Daylight hours

This month has the longest days of the entire year, with over 11 hours of daylight on average each day.

Temperature

With that amount of sunshine, you'll have plenty of time to see lots of sights during the day and still have daylight leftover to enjoy a nice meal on a local restaurant's patio or deck. The average daily temperature for this month is 17°C (about 63°F), a great temperature for being out and about. During the evening hours, the lows drop down to 12°C (around 54°F), still warm enough to hit up the bars and clubs after the sun goes down.

The daytime highs jump up to a near-perfect 22°C (about 72°F), so you'll definitely want to get outside and enjoy the sunshine and warm temperatures. Berlin Burger International

If you're looking for a good old fashioned hamburger, look no further than Berlin Burger International. The burgers are huge and the prices are small, so it's a great choice for budget-minded travelers looking for excellent value. Don't miss the perfectly seasoned curly fries to go with your burger. You order from a counter at this self-service restaurant and can eat-in or take your food to go back to your hotel room.

Mustafa's Gemuese Kebab

Offering good food real fast, Mustafa's Gemuese Kebab offers guests a selection of Middle Eastern, Turkish and vegetarian dishes. This tiny food station serves up some of the best kabobs in all of Germany and even Europe. There is no seating, so expect to eat standing up or take your food to go. Thanks to the food stand's popularity, you should also expect to wait in line, but it's totally worth it for the amazing flavors.

Sucre et Sel

A cozy French bistro that sits just north of the main downtown area of Berlin, Sucre et Sel is the perfect place for a quiet and delicious meal with friends or on a date. It's conveniently located near the well-known Circus Hotel, as well as numerous other places to stay. The restaurant's menu is full of French and Mediterranean dishes like duck, ratatouille, steak tartar and goat cheese plates. Be sure to save room for the crème brulee for dessert too. 

Things to do in Berlin in June

Checkpoint Charlie

One of the most well-known border checkpoints in the world, Checkpoint Charlie was a crossing point for East and West Berlin. Here, you can see a replica of a U.S. Army guardhouse and visit Café Alder, where many journalists and spies met during the Cold War. The nearby Haus am Checkpoint Charlie is a museum that houses many historical artifacts and memorabilia. It's worth a stop to appreciate and honor the history.

Berlin's Holocaust Memorial

For a look at a somber part of Germany's history, visit Berlin's Holocaust Memorial, dedicated to all the Jewish victims of the Nazi genocide during World War II. The venue also houses an underground information center where you can find details about the victims buried in the memorial, and other pertinent or relevant records covering the horrifying details of the Holocaust.

International Aerospace Exhibition and Conference

The month of June means it's time for the popular biennial event, the International Aerospace Exhibition and Conference, also known as the Berlin Air Show. At the air show, you'll get to see both commercial and military air craft and experience a live flight show. Numerous exhibitors are on hand providing information about the aviation industry and you can also enjoy food from local food trucks.
